Scaffolding collapses from high-rise building as Typhoon Noul looms over Hong Kong

Scaffolding on a Hong Kong high-rise building under construction collapsed as it was lashed by high winds brought about by the incoming Typhoon Noul.

Footage taken on Saturday (25 July) shows the bamboo scaffolding on Cheung Sha Wan Road buckling and crashing onto a building below. No injuries have been reported.

Typhoon Noul hit southern China, including Hong Kong, on Sunday (26 July), bringing with it powerful winds and heavy rainfall.

The typhoon, which state media has reported as the strongest to make landfall this year, has resulted in the evacuation of more than 715,000 people from Guangdong province.
