New round of major oil price hikes set on July 28

Motorists will spend as much as P7 more for fuel starting Tuesday as the Middle East conflict nears its fifth month.

Based on separate advisories from Unioil, Petro Gazz and Shell Pilipinas, diesel would be costlier by P7.30 a liter, gasoline P6.80 a liter, and kerosene P4.20 a liter.

Other fuel companies have yet to announce their price adjustments. In Metro Manila, regular diesel prices will shoot up from P86.3 to P98.8 a liter.

Premium diesel products will be even more expensive, hitting as much as P106.6 per liter. Gasoline and kerosene prices will also jump to as much as P106.5 and P138.3 per liter, respectively.

Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas said last Friday that the potential upward price movements could be blamed on mounting supply concerns amid fresh attacks in the Middle East. —LISBET K. ESMAEL
