KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato—Localized thunderstorms and the southwest monsoon have triggered heavy downpour that resulted in flash floods and landslides in some areas of Cotabato province on Monday afternoon. Psalmer Bernalte, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) chief, disclosed that a landslide struck Sitio Sumayahon, Barangay Perez, triggered by continuous heavy rainfall. Based on the incident report provided by the CDRRMO, an acid spill from an unknown chemical occurred; five residential houses were damaged, and four livestock storage areas were affected by the rain-triggered incidents.
