Two industry sources told this to Reuters on Tuesday, July 28, according to Ukrinform.

According to the sources, the strike caused fires at a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit and a high-octane gasoline production unit. They did not specify when the facility would be able to resume operations.

The refinery has a nominal processing capacity of around 9 million tonnes per year, or 180,000 barrels per day.

Industry estimates indicate that the refinery processes approximately 6 million tonnes of crude oil annually, producing around 500,000 tonnes of gasoline and 2.8 million tonnes of diesel fuel.

Local authorities said on Saturday that a fire broke out at the refinery, located more than 2,000 km from the Ukrainian border, as a result of a Ukrainian drone strike.

The shutdown could further exacerbate the situation on Russia's domestic fuel market, where shortages have been worsening since May after Ukraine stepped up attacks on Russian oil refineries in an effort to disrupt the logistical support for Russia's war effort, the report said.
