The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has said the State-wide protests against the alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC recruitment process reflected the growing anger among GenZ and unemployed youth, and asserted that the party would intensify its agitation until justice was delivered.

In a post on X on Tuesday, following the protests organised by the YSRCP student and youth wings, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said students, unemployed youth and other people had participated in large numbers in protest rallies across district headquarters, making the agitation a “resounding success.” The protesters had unanimously demanded the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him morally responsible for the 'irregularities' in the Mega DSC recruitment process. They also sought a comprehensive CBI inquiry into all aspects of the recruitment, including the alleged question paper leak and appointments made under the Sports Quota, he said.

The former Chief Minister alleged that the State government’s handling of the recruitment process had forced talented youth, who had spent years preparing for teaching jobs, to take to the streets in protest. He claimed that allegations of paper leaks and irregular appointments had shattered the aspirations of thousands of job seekers.

Mr. Jagan further alleged that despite documents and evidence regarding the alleged irregularities entering the public domain, neither Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu nor Education Minister Nara Lokesh had responded to the accusations. Instead, he claimed, the government was attempting to divert public attention rather than answer the concerns raised by aspirants.

Reaffirming the YSRCP’s support for students and unemployed youth, he said, the party would intensify its agitation in the coming days until the demands for accountability and a fair recruitment process were met. He also congratulated those who participated in the protests, saying the party remained committed to protecting the interests and future of Andhra Pradesh’s youth.
