PBA: TNT taps Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson as replacement import

MANILA, Philippines–TNT is bringing back Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson to replace the anemic Darius Days as its import for the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup.

Team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed the change following the Tropang 5G’s thrilling 110-107 comeback win over the Converge FiberXers, as the older brother of resident import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will make his second stint.

“He’s already in town,” Lastimosa said.

The 35-year-old is likely to suit up on Saturday when TNT takes on San Miguel Beer at Mall of Asia Arena to wrap up the first round.

Rahlir previously played for the Tropang 5G during the 2023-24 Commissioner’s Cup as a replacement for the injured Rondae late in the eliminations.

The Tropang 5G are replacing Days after failing to live up to the expectations of coach Chot Reyes during his four-game stint. He only had 10 points on 4-of-19 shooting against Converge.

“Darius is not the Darius Days that we had a couple of years ago,” said Reyes, who had Days as its initial import for the 2024 Governors’ Cup before Rondae became available for the start of that conference.

“He’s completely overweight, out of shape and I think it shows in the game and it affects the play of our locals,” Reyes added.
