SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Rights offerings by South Korea's listed companies tumbled about 25 percent on-year in the first half of 2026, data showed Wednesday.
The value of rights issues by 220 listed firms reached 6.2 trillion won (US$4.3 billion) in the January to June period, compared to 8.3 trillion won from a year earlier, according to the data by the Korea Securities Depository (KSD).
Rights offerings by companies listed on the main bourse nosedived 55.5 percent in the first half, while share sales by those registered on the secondary market jumped 40 percent, according to the latest findings.
The number of listed firms seeking rights offerings slightly rose to 220 in the first half, compared with 218 firms a year earlier, the KSD said.
