Former Hong Kong school teacher guilty of molesting student
Cheng Hon-sze guilty of two counts of indecent assault for groping his then 15-year-old pupil and making her perform an obscene act on him
A former Hong Kong school teacher has been remanded in custody pending sentencing for twice molesting a student six years ago.
A District Court judge sitting at Tsuen Wan Court found Cheng Hon-sze guilty of two counts of indecent assault on Wednesday, for groping his then 15-year-old pupil and making her perform an obscene act on him between May and October 2020.
However, Cheng was cleared of seven other counts of indecent assault because for some incidents, the girl failed to expressly refuse the 32-year-old defendant’s advances, or the act involved was not inherently indecent.
Cheng, who is single and jobless, was accused of repeatedly molesting the girl from November 2019 to June 2024, when she was aged between 14 and 19.
The trial heard that Cheng developed an intimate relationship with the teenager after he became her class teacher in Form One and Form Two at a secondary school.
He allegedly groped the girl and made her engage in non-penetrative sex on school premises, inside his car and at his flat at the Park Yoho Genova complex in Yuen Long.
