Driver fleeing cops in LA accidentally ends up with a dirt bike escort after almost running down scooter rider

A driver who led officers in Los Angeles on an hour-long chase accidentally ended up with a dirt bike escort.

On Tuesday (28 July), the driver of a reportedly stolen Mercedes SUV sped and swerved across both freeways and city streets, with officers in hot pursuit.

At one point, as he entered the northbound 110 Freeway, the motorist encountered a large group of dirt bike riders, who performed wheelies alongside the car.

After exiting the freeway and entering a downtown LA parking structure, officers surrounded the area and launched a search for the suspect.

Multiple people inside the vehicle were detained, though officers are still searching for one additional person.
