Writer-director Makoto Shinkai’s beloved 2016 anime film Your Name has been remastered in 4K for a North American theatrical re-release next month.

GKIDS will release the 4K remaster of Your Name in theaters nationwide starting August 14 in both its original Japanese language and English dub versions. IGN can exclusively reveal the trailer for the re-release, which can be watched via the player below.

Animated by CoMix Wave Films, Your Name became a global phenomenon upon its release in 2016. With a worldwide box office haul north of $400 million, Your Name remains the highest-grossing original Japanese animated feature of all time.

Described by GKIDS in their official announcement as “a breathtaking love story across time,” Your Name follows “rural schoolgirl Mitsuha and city kid Taki [who] awaken to discover that they’ve switched bodies. The total strangers struggle to navigate each other’s lives, walking tightropes of intimacy and distance. But when they finally resolve to meet, the true nature of their connection threatens to seal their fate.”

In her Your Name review, IGN’s critic Jenna Busch wrote “the animation is absolutely gorgeous and the story will grab your heart and squeeze. Your Name doesn’t quite match the feel of a classic Miyazaki film, but it’s still a lovely story that actually manages to make the time travel mostly understandable… This is definitely worth a watch.”
