According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made this statement on Thursday during a crisis management team meeting in Lublin.
“Everything indicates that it was a Russian Kh-101 missile,” Tusk said.
According to him, the relevant agencies are investigating the details of the incident.
The head of the Polish government called it a “rather unusual coincidence” that he had had a lengthy conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Lublin the day before. This conversation, according to Tusk, concerned, in particular, “close cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in the field of missile defense and air operations in light of the threat from Russia.”
“President Zelensky warned me yesterday that they have precise information that Russia will launch a massive attack on Ukraine, and that there are valid concerns of an escalation of Russian strikes against Ukraine, particularly from the air. We also agreed that cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in the field of modern missile defense technologies will continue to develop. And despite the various tensions and emotions, which we are all well aware of, I want to emphasize very clearly: The government will work to ensure close cooperation with the Ukrainian side regarding the security of Polish and Ukrainian airspace,” Tusk emphasized.
He emphasized that the Polish soldiers fully understand “how important it is to help Ukraine effectively destroy Russian missiles, shells, and drones while they are still over its territory.”
“When we talk about continued support for Ukraine, particularly in terms of providing it with everything necessary to combat Russian targets in the air, we are not doing so merely out of solidarity, nor simply because we do not want Russia to win this war, but first and foremost because this has a direct impact on Poland’s security,” Tusk stated.
He stated that, Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, General Ireneusz Nowak, reported that during tonight’s attack, Ukrainian fighter jets “attempted to intercept missiles flying toward Poland, right near the Polish border.”

“This also shows just how important our cooperation with our allies is,” the Polish prime minister emphasized.
As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a total of eight people were killed in Ukraine as a result of yet another massive Russian attack. The enemy launched more than 70 missiles and over 280 combat drones.
On Wednesday night, the Polish troops identified the probable crash site of an unidentified aerial object in the Lublin Voivodeship following a massive Russian airstrike on Ukraine. F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept it.
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha stated that a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile crossed the Polish border during Russia’s massive strike on Ukraine, violating NATO airspace.
