This was announced at a briefing by Marcin Kozak, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“We know for certain that we are dealing with a missile, not a drone, and certainly not a ‘Geran.’ Most likely, it is an Kh-101 missile. It contained a significant warhead,” Kozak stated.

According to him, investigators are continuing to examine the missile’s impact site. He noted that the crater formed by the explosion is approximately 10 meters in diameter and about 5 meters deep.

Work is underway at the site to collect missile debris and other physical evidence; experts are also taking soil samples for specialized analysis.

All collected materials will be handed over to experts at the Military Gendarmerie laboratory, who are tasked with definitively determining the type of aerial object.

The main investigative activities at the site are expected to be completed today before dusk.

According to a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, about 50 military personnel from the Territorial Defense Forces have been involved in the search efforts, helping to survey the area, which is being mapped using drones.

Kozak reported that a Ukrainian expert will also join the inspection of the crash site; the expert is already on his way to Tarnava-Kolonia to help identify the missile. The spokesperson reiterated that the Ukrainian side has offered assistance to Polish law enforcement authorities.

The military division of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin is conducting an investigation under charges of violating Polish airspace and creating a threat of an aviation disaster.

Tusk

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of July 29–30, Russia carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine, killing at least eight people and wounding more than 50 others.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that what likely crashed in the Lublin Voivodeship was an Kh-101 cruise missile.

According to him, Warsaw will soon consider the possibility of providing Ukraine with additional missiles for the Patriot air defense systems.
