The 16th edition of Alva’s Pragati, a job fair organised Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, on August 7 and 8 will witness participation by about 350 companies with nearly 25,000 jobs on offer, according to Managing Trustee M. Vivek Alva.

Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on July 30, Mr. Alva said, “Alva’s Pragati 2026 is being organised at the Vidyagiri campus in Moodbidri. The event is organised as part of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The placement drive is conducted free of cost for both candidates and companies. So far, the event has facilitated 40,848 spot job offers, while 66,432 were shortlisted through placement drives.”

Online registration is compulsory for job aspirants to streamline and digitise the process. Details of participating companies are updated on real-time basis.

Mr. Alva said the event features major sectors such as IT/ITeS, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Pharma, Sales and Retail, Banking and Finance, Hospitality, Education and NGO, Media, Electronics and telecommunication sectors. With 326 companies already confirming participation, 24,298 jobs are on offer. Fresh graduates of 2026 batch as well as graduates of previous years can apply with opportunities open even for experienced candidates.

A dedicated AI-powered chat bot is available at the venue to assist candidates. Once a resume is uploaded, the bot will automatically recommend companies and job opportunities that best match the candidate’s profile.

Accommodation facility will be arranged for outstation candidates from August 6 onwards while free bus facility will be provided for ITI and diploma candidates.

Alva’s College Journalism Department head Prasad Shetty and Foundation Placement Head Ranjitha Acharya were present.
