The District and Sessions Court and the Mini Secretariat here received email bomb threats on Friday (July 31, 2026), prompting the authorities to conduct a thorough security check of the premises, police said. The emails were sent to the official IDs of the District Bar Association, Gurugram deputy commissioner and others, they said.

On receiving the information, police and security agencies, bomb squads and dog squads arrived at the District Court and the Mini Secretariat. The agencies conducted a thorough check of the premises. Movement of visitors was monitored. The Court proceedings were completely suspended as advocates, staff and litigants were urged to vacate the premises.

In a statement, the District Bar Association said no judicial work will be conducted on Friday (July 31, 2026) due to a bomb threat received targeting the District Court. It urged all lawyers to immediately vacate the Court premises as a precautionary measure.

The District and Sessions Judge was also requested to postpone the hearing of all cases scheduled for the day and assign new dates. District Bar Association Secretary Rahul Dhankhar appealed to all members to cooperate with the administration and ignore rumours.

Police are working to identify the sender of the email and determine the veracity of the threat, officials said. Threat mails were sent to some schools here as well, the officials said.
