The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided the update on Facebook as of 16:00 on Friday, July 31, Ukrinform reports.

Russian forces again shelled border areas with artillery. Under enemy fire were the settlements of Korenok, Sopych, Myshutyne, Kucherivka, Buniakyne, Ryzhivka, Neskuchne, Tovstodubove, Volfyne, Ulanove, and Pustohorod in the Sumy region.

Russian aircraft carried out strikes on Zaliznyi Mist and Bereza.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces shelled settlements and Ukrainian positions 33 times, including twice with multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops made four attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Starytsia and toward Khatnie.

No offensive actions were reported in the Kupiansk sector.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attempts to advance toward Lyman and Ozerne, as well as near Novoselivka and Zarichne.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 18 Russian attacks near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as toward Pyskunivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Five combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack toward Tykhonivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and Rusyn Yar, as well as toward Novopavlivka. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces have made 16 attempts since the beginning of the day to push Ukrainian troops from their positions near Dorozhnie and Udachne, as well as toward Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Nove Shakhove, and Serhiivka. Two combat engagements are still underway.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched one attack toward Oleksandrohrad.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks toward Vozdvyzhivka, Kosivtseve, and Tsvitkove.

Russian forces have not yet launched offensive operations in the Orikhiv and Dnipro River sectors.

The situation remains largely unchanged in other sectors of the front, with no Russian attempts to advance reported there.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to exhaust Russian troops along the entire line of contact and in the rear areas.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces continue attempting small-group assaults in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
