Apple has a lot of new products launching this fall, including five that have been many years in the making. Here’s what’s coming.

iPhone Ultra, the first foldable model

Samsung shipped its first foldable smartphone in 2019, and rumors of a foldable iPhone have been around ever since.

This fall, the first ever foldable iPhone finally launches: iPhone Ultra.

Apple has reportedly been able to achieve a crease-free display and unique hinge that stand up to years of wear and tear. In other words, the technology has finally reached a place where truly great foldables are possible—something Samsung has attested to.

New Apple TV 4K

The last Apple TV 4K launched in fall 2022, making it the longest-selling model without an update.

We’ve been expecting a new Apple TV for nearly a year now, as it was originally rumored for a fall 2025 launch. But delays with Siri AI reportedly led Apple to push the release.

Now that Siri AI is officially shipping in iOS 27, the new Apple TV 4K is expected to arrive this fall too with an all-new Siri experience and other upgrades.

MacBook Ultra, the first touchscreen model

Apple has long pushed the narrative that Macs don’t need touchscreens. Yet for years, it has also shipped iPads with keyboards and trackpads that offer a laptop form factor.

This fall, rumors indicate the company will finally reverse its stance and bring touch support to Mac.

The highly anticipated MacBook Ultra, which may also be branded as a MacBook Pro, will include a touchscreen. And macOS Golden Gate has plenty of hints of touch support, like scroll to refresh, Sidecar adding direct touch input, Markup tools expanding, and UI changes.

New HomePod mini

HomePod mini is coming up on six years without a hardware update.

The first HomePod mini launched in fall 2020, and aside from rolling out more color options, it hasn’t changed since.

HomePod mini 2 is rumored to have a new chip for Siri AI support, improved audio quality, fresh color options, and more. It will launch as part of Apple Home’s upcoming product overhaul.

HomePad

HomePad is one common name for the forthcoming smart home hub that Mark Gurman has reported on extensively. Another possible name is HomePod Touch.

Rumors about a display-equipped HomePod have been around for years. But in 2024, Bloomberg offered an extensive preview of the ‘HomePad.’ At the time, the product was reportedly set for an early 2025 launch.

I’ve been very excited for the HomePad since first hearing about it. But because of Siri delays, it kept getting pushed back too. Now, the latest reporting points to a fall launch for the HomePad.
