The powerhouse stable of co-trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott will be in action at Wyong on Sunday with three top contenders set to go around at the Central Coast track.

Waterhouse and Bott will start talented three-year-old Wendell in the Spelling At Domeland 3YO Maiden Plate (1200m). Regan Bayliss takes the ride.

A son of Written Tycoon, Wendell contested the Magic Millions Debut at the Gold Coast in January and finished 10th of 11 behind Toorak Jewel.

He resumes on Sunday after two recent barrier trials, with Bayliss being in the saddle in the latest of them when scoring by a big margin at Randwick.

Jockey Rachel King will combine with Waterhouse and Bott aboard their other two starters: Roebuck Plane in the Jockeys Celebration Day Maiden Handicap (1100m) and Whack Attack in the De Bortoli Wines Benchmark 64 Handicap (1630m).

Roebuck Plane is a Fastnet Rock filly on debut and she has had three trials in total, winning the latest at Rosehill on July 10 when King was aboard.

King rode Whack Attack in its latest outing when finishing third at Wyong behind Dubai Warrior in a tight three-way finish.

Roebuck Plane will face stern opposition in her event with champion jockey James McDonald heading to Wyong for just the one ride, on the Chris Waller-trained Steel Will.

First-up from a spell, Steel Will debuted with a third behind the classy The Next Episode at Warwick Farm and then stepped straight up in class to contest the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes. He ran seventh in that race, beaten just under six lengths, behind Blue Door.

Waller has given Steel Will two barrier trials in preparation for his resuming run and he has won both of them at Warwick Farm and Randwick.

Waller will have one other runner at Wyong with Indigo Star representing the stable in the NSW Jockeys Association Maiden Plate (1630m).

Indigo Star was placed at Wyong two starts ago and then ran well again when a last-start third at Warwick Farm behind stablemate Saloon Passage.
