Commonwealth Games live updates: Diamonds push for netball gold, gold medals on offer in the boxing

The Diamonds will take on Jamaica for a spot in the gold medal clash, as Australia's cyclists shoot for more gold.

Good news for netball fans: Semifinals are underway

Day nine at The Hydro is a good one for my fellow netty fans!

Both New Zealand and Australia are up in today's netball semifinals (just not against each other... yet).

The NZ Silver Ferns are facing off against England's Roses on the court now, and the winner of this match will go through to Saturday's gold medal match.

And it's a bloody close game so far, the Kiwis are ahead but not by much — the half-time score is 29-24.

Then we'll see Australia's Diamonds take on Jamacia's Sunshine Girls later today, that winning team from that match will also play for the gold on Saturday.

Will we see the Aussies and Kiwis face off for the top prize again? Stay tuned to find out!

The two teams who lose their games at The Hydro today will fight it out for a chance at the bronze.

Coming up in bowls:

It's a big day of bowls today, with the group matches wrapping up and the semi-finals kicking off.

We've got Corey Wedlock and Aaron Teys up against New Zealand in the men's pairs at 6.55pm AEST.

Australia has to win by a lot and hope Northern Ireland lose against Fiji (starting at 8.20pm AEST).

Also at 8.20pm AEST, defending gold medalist Ellen Fife will play Cook Island's Emily Jim.

Fife must win and, either make up a shot difference over England's Katherine Rednall, or hope the English woman falters in her final group match.

Then we have Damien Delgado and James Reynolds — currently undefeated — taking on Scotland in the para men's pairs B6-B8 at 9.45pm AEST. The Aussies are already guaranteed to make the semis later tonight.

At midnight AEST, Louise Hoskins and Serena Bonnell will also face Scotland in the para women's pairs B6-B8. They're guaranteed to make the semifinals, but this is an important match in the jostle for positions on the table. Australia needs a win to avoid a semi-final against the currently undefeated New Zealanders.

Then the semi finals kick off from 4.15am AEST.

Good evening, and welcome to ABC Sport's live blog coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. No let up in the action from start to finish, so good thing the crew is here with you all night long as the Aussie gold rush (hopefully) continues.
