The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed another agent of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU) in the Donetsk region, who directed the shelling of Kramatorsk and tracked down armored vehicles of the Defense Forces to set them on fire.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the SSU.
According to the case file, the recruit was a member of a local group that engaged in looting at sites of enemy strikes.
The suspect came to the Russians’ attention through Telegram channels, where he posted comments in support of the Kremlin regime.
In exchange for money, the agent agreed to direct shelling of the district center and set fire to the military equipment of Ukrainian defenders.
To guide airstrikes, the suspect patrolled the frontline town and monitored the locations where Defense Forces personnel were concentrated.
The perpetrator also tracked down and set fire to an Armed Forces of Ukraine armored vehicle that was carrying out combat missions on the front lines.
SSU officers detained him at his residence. At the same time, Defense Forces locations within the enemy’s reconnaissance zone were secured.
During searches, a smartphone was seized from the detainee, which he used to collect intelligence and communicate with a handler from the Russian Federation.
Investigators from the Security Service informed the agent that he was suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The suspect is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As reported by Ukrinform, Kyiv police detained a man who, on behalf of Russian special services, set fire to a car belonging to a soldier of the Third Army Corps in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.
