At least four Palestinians were reportedly killed in separate Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip overnight, despite US President Donald Trump announcing what he described as a breakthrough in efforts to revive last year’s Gaza ceasefire agreement.
According to Palestinian health officials, Israeli warplanes carried out strikes in Gaza City and Deir al Balah during the night.
Medical sources said an airstrike on a residential apartment in Deir al-Balah killed a man and his wife, while four other people sustained injuries.
In a separate strike on an apartment in Gaza City, two more people, including a child, were reported killed.
The Israel Defense Forces had not issued an immediate statement on the reported attacks at the time of filing this report.
The Israeli military has consistently maintained that its operations target militants and infrastructure it says pose a threat to Israeli civilians and security forces.
