According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook.

“As a result of enemy strikes in the Sumy region over the past 24 hours, one person was killed and eight civilians were injured. Destruction and damage to private homes, non-residential buildings, and civilian infrastructure were also recorded. A 47-year-old woman who was injured on July 30 during an enemy attack on the Romny community died in the hospital,” the statement reads.

Over the past 24 hours, a 31-year-old woman was injured in the Sumy community as a result of a drone strike. In the Hlukhiv community, a 53-year-old man was wounded when an enemy drone struck.

A 57-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy were injured when an enemy UAV struck a house in the Yampil community.

In the Bereziv community, a 28-year-old man was injured when an enemy drone struck. In the Konotop community, a 55-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction after an enemy drone struck. In the Boromlia community, two men aged 33 and 65 were injured when a vehicle struck an enemy explosive device.

Kharkivand surrounding region injure five people overnight

It is noted that from the morning of August 1 to the morning of August 2, 2026, Russian troops carried out 90 shelling attacks on 34 settlements in 19 territorial communities of the region. The highest number of shelling incidents was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

Local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and civic organizations from border communities, evacuated 21 people.

As reported by Ukrinform, on August 1 in the Sumy region, two civilians were killed and eight people were wounded or injured as a result of Russian strikes.
