The biggest individual prize ever claimed in Lotto was $44.06 million won in Auckland a decade ago.
Previous winners
One Auckland player became an overnight millionaire after winning the sole $1 million Lotto First Division prize in last Saturday night’s live draw. The winning ticket was bought on MyLotto.
Lotto said 17 players also won $27,913 each with Lotto Second Division.
Three of those winners also picked up Powerball Second Division, taking their total winnings to $39,190.
The Second Division winning tickets were sold in Riverhead, Auckland, Paeroa, Waihī Beach, Hāwera, Hawke’s Bay, Christchurch, Westport and elsewhere on the West Coast, including eight bought through MyLotto.
What to do if you win
Ticket holders can see immediately if they have won if they purchased a ticket through MyLotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.
For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.
Winners with physical tickets must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.
For the Powerball jackpot to be claimed, a ticket holder must get all six Lotto numbers correct as well as the added Powerball number.
