For Danylo Voronov, his wedding day a year ago was one of the happiest days of his life – with his family gathered to witness it.

This photo shows him and his wife Anna showing off their rings, together with his mother Olena and their baby son Artem and other siblings.

Now just three of them are still alive after a Russian missile struck their home in Ukraine.

The Voronov family were asleep when the attack took place in the village of Radushne, in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Olena, 41, died alongside her husband Artem, 47, three of their sons (Mark, 17, Zakharii, 13, and Azarii Ilai, 11), four daughters (Dominika, 16, Viorika, 14, Federika, nine, and Emilia, seven) and grandson Artem, 18 months.

Mr Voronov, who was serving as a soldier on the frontline when the tragedy happened, returned to the ruins of the house.

'It still feels like some kind of dream – like they exist somewhere, but just not here,' he said.

Other surviving family members include his brother Matvii, 25, who was not in at the time of the attack, his sister Inna, 24, who lives in Germany, and his 23-year-old wife Anna.

Among the rubble, two cuddly toys were found, a scrapbook filled with photos of the family and a child's artwork, showing a rabbit holding a bunch of flowers.

Mr Voronov's aunt, Olena Chorna, 43, who lives in nearby Kryvyi Rih, said: 'Danylo is trying to stay strong, but we will bury ten members of his family, eight of them children.

Can anyone imagine what he must feel and be going through? His entire world was undone.'

She added: 'All I feel is hatred towards the terrorists who launched that missile and took the lives of my beloved family.'

The attack which destroyed the Voronov's house was part of an overnight bombardment across Ukraine by Russia on Thursday. At least 50 people were also injured.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was born in Kryvyi Rih, branded the attack a 'horrific crime', adding: 'The Russians destroyed an ordinary home of an ordinary family.'
