After racking up an estimated $355 million at the box office, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has left people wanting more — in a good way. The next best thing to watching Spider-Man is to be the web slinger. And no games do a better job of putting you in Peter Parker's red leotard than Marvel's Spider-Man games on PlayStation 5.

Since the release of the record-breaking superhero movie, statistics show that players have flocked to the most recent Spider-Man games in droves recently. On Steam, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 have all reached the highest concurrent player counts in over a year. Numbers for the game's native PlayStation platforms aren't public yet, but it seems reasonable to assume the same is happening there. After all, terms like "new Spider-Man game" and "Spider-Man Brand New Day game" are blowing up on Google, with searches for the latter seeing a 40% increase.

Unfortunately, there isn't a specific game to go alongside the new movie, but fans can still don the hero's latest suit within Marvel's Spider-Man 2 thanks to a recent update. It undoubtedly helps that all the major modern Spider-Man games are on sale right now, both for digital and physical platforms. The latest game is on sale for 58% off on the PlayStation Store, the lowest price it has reached in a few months. If you're worried about PlayStation's impending loss of physical games in 2028, many major retailers are selling the actual disks for a big summer discount at the moment as well.

Polygon's review for Spider-Man 2 stated that developer Insomniac found new ways to tell classic Spidey tales in a game where flying through New York is an "undeniable joy." The title was great enough to be a contender for Game of the Year, and was widely considered to be one of the best PlayStation 5 games, period. With the impending release of Insomniac Games' Wolverine, the Spidey games might be a good appetizer before the studio's next action title.
