Supporters of Sindhanur MLA Hampana Gowda Badarli held a protest in Sindhanur and expressed anguish against Congress party’s high command for not including their leader in the State Cabinet. One of them even tried self-immolation, but it was foiled by the police.

Unhappy about him not being included in the second phase ministry expansion, hundreds of his supporters staged a snap protest at Gandhi Circle in Sindhanur and raised slogans against the party high command.

The protestors said that they were upset because the party had failed to recognise his unblemished record as MLA and loyalty towards the party.

Several of his followers had gone to the State capital to greet him, believing that he would become the Minister, but they had to return disappointed.

Meanwhile, the resignation letter, which was said to have been tendered by Babu Gowda Badarli, son of Mr. Badarli, to his post of Sindhanur Urban Development Authority, was circulated on social media. However, it is not officially confirmed yet.
