CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Government responders evacuated 33 families (111 individuals) in the La Union town of Naguilian, where heavy flooding, fallen trees, and landslides occurred due to pummeling rain from tropical depression Luis and the enhanced “habagat.” A report from the La Union Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office showed that 14 families were sheltered at evacuation centers there and 19 families have stayed with relatives to ride out the strong, steady downpour on Monday.
