Many municipalities in Fukushima Prefecture are struggling to hire workers, prompting them to recruit former workers who had left due to family reasons or who had changed jobs.

The city of Tamura established a new recruitment quota for returning workers this spring, allowing its former employees to apply again. The applicants are exempt from a written exam and can replace interviews with self-shot videos, so that they can go through the recruitment process while working at another place.

The city of Aizuwakamatsu also created a similar quota and accepted two former workers to be assigned to the same line of work that they had been engaged in before they quit.
