Boy Abunda to give Jobert Sucaldito the burial he wanted

Boy Abunda said he will fulfill the late veteran entertainment journalist Jobert Sucaldito’s wish to have a proper burial.

Sucaldito, known for his decades-long career as a fiesty showbiz columnist and radio commentator, died on Sunday at the age of 65. His wake is being held at Loyola Memorial Park along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City until Thursday.

Abunda shared that he will give Sucaldito a dignified farewell as the late columnist previously asked his family immediately to inform the TV host if anything happened to him.

“I promise to do that. Sinabi ko [kay Carlo] na bibigyan natin nang maayos na paalam, maayos na libing, ang iyong ama,” Abunda said during the Monday episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

The “King of Talk” also went emotional as he paid tribute to his longtime friend, describing Sucaldito as someone who was fiercely protective of him and remained a loyal friend through the years.

According to his son, Sucaldito died of cardiac arrest after collapsing inside his room and hitting his head. He was found unconscious by his house helper and rushed him to the Philippine Heart Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Abunda added that Sucaldito had been hospitalized last month after doctors found that two of his heart arteries were blocked. Doctors reportedly advised the late talent manager to be admitted to the intensive care unit, but he declined. /edv
