FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, has given his verdict on the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after Spain won the World Cup on Sunday.
This year’s edition of the World Cup was concluded on Sunday as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final in New Jersey.
The only goal of the encounter was scored by Spain striker Ferran Torres in extra time.
In a post on his Instagram account in the early hours of Wednesday, Infantino insisted that the 2026 World Cup final was a “star-studded occasion, uniting the world in a special way.”
He wrote, “The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final was a star-studded occasion, uniting the world as our beautiful game always does, but this time in a unique and special way!
“Never have so many stars been at the same time in the same place: this is FIFA! This is the FIFA World Cup!
Thank you all for coming, enjoying and being part of the most spectacular event in history.”
