Regine Velasquez to mark 40th year in entertainment with documentary ‘Songbird’
Regine Velasquez is set to release a documentary entitled “Songbird,” which will chronicle her career and the journey leading up to her 40th anniversary concert “The Finale.”
The Asia’s Songbird made the announcement while showing a clip from the documentary written and directed by Michael Carandang, through her Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 3. The clip also teased that the project will give an “unprecedented access to what it takes to be Regine.”
“As part of the year long celebration of Regine Velasquez Alcasid’s 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry, iMusic Entertainment, in partnership with GOAT Creative Studios, proudly presents SONGBIRD,” the caption reads.

“The documentary follows Regine’s journey as she prepares for The Finale, while reflecting on the triumphs, sacrifices, and legacy of her extraordinary career,” it further says.
The film will be released in theaters in 2027, although the exact premiere date has yet to be revealed as of this writing.
Velasquez is set to stage “The Finale” concert on Oct. 17 and 18, with the second night being a free show. While the veteran singer calls it her “final major solo concert,” her husband, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, clarified that Velasquez is not retiring anytime soon. /ra
