Garena announces Palworld Online, bringing Pocketpair’s survival hit to mobile as an MMO
Garena is bringing Palworld to mobile through a new officially licensed title developed in partnership with Japanese game studio Pocketpair. Called Palworld Online, the upcoming game reimagines the creature-collecting survival experience as a massively multiplayer online game while retaining the open-world exploration, crafting, and Pal-raising mechanics that helped make the original PC release a global hit.
Unlike the original game, which focuses primarily on solo and cooperative survival, Palworld Online is being built around a persistent shared world where players can adventure, build, and progress together. Garena said the mobile adaptation will feature an original storyline and exclusive side stories while preserving the freedom and exploration that define the Palworld experience.
Players will once again explore a sprawling world alongside creatures known as Pals, capturing, raising, and battling them while uncovering new regions, hidden treasures, and lore. Garena said each encounter is designed to strengthen the relationship between players and their companions rather than simply expanding a collection.

Players will also be able to meet others in a seamless online world, form groups, establish shared settlements, and take on both cooperative and competitive activities. That includes open-world boss fights, PvE encounters, PvP battles, and the ability to visit other players’ bases or hunt for rare Pals together.
Rather than maintaining an individual camp, players can work together to develop a shared settlement that serves as a hub for crafting, defense, and everyday activities. Pals can be assigned to automate production or protect the settlement, allowing players to spend more time exploring and cooperating with others.
Garena said the game has been designed specifically for mobile devices instead of simply porting the PC experience. Palworld Online will include a touch-friendly interface and optional one-tap controls intended to simplify base construction, Pal management, and other complex systems while preserving the depth of the original gameplay across a wide range of smartphones.
“Palworld is a widely recognized IP, and we see an opportunity to bring the essence of the PC title to mobile in a way that encourages players to connect and venture together,” said Terry Zhao, President at Garena. He added that the company has been working closely with Pocketpair to preserve the immersion, freedom, and depth that players expect from the franchise while optimizing it for mobile.

Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe said Garena’s experience in mobile publishing, localization, and live service operations made it a natural partner for the project. He said the studio looks forward to seeing a new version of Palworld reach players around the world through the collaboration.
Palworld became one of gaming’s biggest breakout hits after its PC launch, combining creature collection, survival mechanics, base building, and multiplayer gameplay. While the mobile version keeps many of those foundations, Garena’s decision to build the game around a shared online world marks the biggest departure from the original formula and could make it a different experience from its PC counterpart.
Garena has not announced a specific release date, but Palworld Online is currently scheduled to launch sometime in 2026. Additional details, including its launch timeline, will be revealed at a later date.
