Apple has just released new beta firmware for AirPods Pro 3 and more models, with the update expected to launch to all users alongside iOS 27 next month.
New iOS 27 beta firmware for AirPods rolling out now
This fall with iOS 27, AirPods users will gain a handful of new features.
Those upgrades will be enabled by a combination of iOS 27 changes for iPhone and the companion new firmware for AirPods. Both releases are currently in beta.
Today has brought new AirPods beta firmware with a build number of 9A5336b. It’s rolling out for AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2.
The previous beta firmware build was 9A5314b, released nearly one month ago.
Currently, the new beta firmware is only available for developers. But a public beta version should arrive in the coming days.
In years past, installing AirPods beta updates was a complicated process involving Xcode and a Mac. But recently, Apple made the process much easier.
Users can opt into the AirPods beta from the Settings app, after which new firmware releases will automatically install in the background.
