LUCENA CITY – A 28-year-old motorcycle rider died after his vehicle collided with a truck along the Maharlika Highway in Rodriguez town, Rizal province, early Wednesday. The Calabarzon Regional Police Office said motorcyclist “Vergel” was traveling along Eastwood Road in Barangay San Isidro at around 12:20 a.m. when his motorcycle smashed head-on with an aluminum van truck driven by “Rene.” After the impact, the motorcycle rammed into a concrete post and was thrown toward the middle of the road along with the rider.
