Jericho Rosales’ brother Jeremiah sorry to family after he relapsed and left home

Jeremiah Rosales, the younger brother of actor Jericho Rosales, broke his silence and issued an apology over a month after he relapsed into substance use and isolated himself from his family.

Jeremiah, who left his family without their knowledge in June and was reported missing by his wife Jhen, explained his disappearance in a YouTube vlog interview with broadcast journalist Julius Babao on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

“One month akong nag-isolate para sa betterment ng family, kasi talagang hindi madali ang mga dumating sa aking pagsubok — sa wife, sa children, sa sarili, issues ko,” he said, admitting that he turned to alcohol and drugs as his “outlet.”

Jeremiah disclosed that he and his family struggled financially as well, to the point that he resorted to collecting and selling junks to earn money.

During those times, he said he suffered from depression, which worsened his relapse. This then caused an argument between him and his children, who then reached out to their uncle Jericho for help. According to Jeremiah, it was the actor who decided to readmit him to a rehabilitation center.

Jeremiah recounted how he left their home after sensing his family’s plan, bringing only his wallet and motorcycle keys with him to avoid raising suspicions. He then asked a friend for money, which allowed him to travel to Bicol where his extended family resides.

He working as a construction worker in Bicol until he learned that his wife had reported him missing. He initially planned to leave again because he feared that the staff of the rehabilitation facility that his family contacted would be able to locate him.

But after learning that Jericho knew his whereabouts, Jeremiah said he felt relieved. He said Jericho even supported him by sending money to their relatives so they could provide him with food and other necessities.

“Doon ako nag-decide na talagang babaguhin ko na ang sarili ko at babalikan ko ang pamilya ko,” Jeremiah said.

Addressing his family, he continued, “Ito nanaman ako, hihingi ng tawad sa inyo. Sorry naging marupok ako.”

He also apologized to his brother for the inconvenience he caused during his isolation.

“Pinipilit ko magbago, tol. Mahina lang ‘yung foundation ko pero nagpapakatigas ako,” Jeremiah addressed Jericho. “Ito na siguro ‘yung time na desidido na akong magbago.”

Jeremiah, who is currently in Antipolo with his wife and children, said he is still working to regain his family’s trust and rebuild their relationship. /ra
