Walang Pasok: Class suspensions due to 'Mamay' on August 5

MANILA, Philippines — Several classes have been suspended or shifted to online learning on Wednesday, August 5, due to inclement weather intensified by Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira).

As of 8 a.m., Maymay was estimated to be 190 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

It is moving northward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 80 kph.

Despite the suspension, schools in Metro Manila were advised to implement alternative modes of learning.

The following areas have suspended classes:

Metro Manila

  • Manila (kinder to senior high school, public and private schools)
  • Quezon City (kinder to senior high school, public schools only)
  • Caloocan City (all levels, public and private schools)
  • Marikina City (all levels, public and private schools)
  • Malabon City (all levels, public and private schools)
  • Pasay City (all levels, public and private schools, including childhood development centers)

Aurora

  • Casiguran - Daycare to Kindergarten
  • Dilasag - Daycare to Kindergarten
  • Dinalungan - Daycare to Kindergarten
  • Dipaculao - Daycare to Kindergarten

Bataan

  • Abucay - All levels; Public and Private
  • Bagac - Kindergarten to Senior High School; Public and Private; Alternative Delivery Mode
  • Dinalupihan - Kindergarten to Senior High School; Public and Private
  • Hermosa - All levels; Public and Private; Alternative Delivery Mode
