A 19-year-old Class 11 student was stabbed to death after a quarrel with a group of people in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji on Monday afternoon, police said. The victim was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre after a PCR call reported a quarrel among school students, but doctors declared him dead.

Police said the incident took place near a park in B Block of DDA Flats in Kalkaji. Two persons have been apprehended in connection with the case, and officers said the accused have been identified as the investigation continues.

According to police, the PCR call was received at 2.23 pm. A police team reached the spot and found the victim lying there with stab injuries. A CATS ambulance also reached the area and gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation before shifting him to hospital.

The deceased was identified as Saiyed Husain, a resident of JJ Camp, Okhla Phase-II. “He was a Class 11 student studying at an MCD school in Kalkaji. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Husain was stabbed during a quarrel involving two or three persons,” a senior police officer said.

Police said multiple teams have been formed to trace and apprehend those involved. “The accused have been identified. Efforts are being made to trace and apprehend them at the earliest,” a police officer said. CCTV footage from the area is being examined and witnesses are being questioned to establish the sequence of events that led to the attack.

A case has been registered and further investigation is under way. Police said the exact motive behind the incident has not yet been established, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
