According to the report, starting at 6:00 p.m. on August 4, the Russians launched four Zircon/Onyx missiles from the Kursk and Rostov regions, 24 Iskander-M/S-400 missiles from the Bryansk and Kursk regions, 115 Shahed-type combat UAVs (most of them jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Orel (Russian Federation), the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The main target of the attack was the Kyiv region.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m. on August 5, Air Defense Forces had shot down or neutralized 98 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Missiles and 17 combat UAVs hit 26 locations, and downed targets (debris) were found at six locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the air.

As reported by Ukrinform, one person was killed, and 26 were injured in Kyiv as a result of a Russian attack on the night of August 5.
In the Kyiv region, 14 people were killed, and 22 were injured as a result of a Russian attack.
