What to expect at the first-ever Reina Filipinas Grand Coronation Night

The first-ever edition of the Reina Filipinas pageant will culminate on its Grand Coronation Night, which will be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Friday evening, Aug. 7.

Twenty-one candidates from across the Philippines make up the pioneer batch of the inaugural staging of the new national pageant. Three winners will be crowned at the end of the competion — one of them will hold the Reina Filipinas Grand International title, while two others will both receive the Reina Filipinas MGI All Stars crowns.

The ceremonies will be streamed in real time on the Bragais TV YouTube channel, starting at 7 p.m. Reina Filipinas President Jojo Bragais had declared earlier that, to be consistent with the Miss Grand International pageant’s practice of starting events on time, his coronation show will commence promptly on the announced schedule.

Miss Grand International Founder and President Nawat Itsaragrisil is the executive partner of the Reina Filipinas Organization, while reigning Miss Grand International Emma Tiglao is the national director.

Ten semifinalists will survive the first cut, while the candidate who will amass the most points from the DandyGlow selling will join the roster to raise the field to 11 in the semifinal round.

From the “Top 10 plus one,” five finalists will be chosen by the judges to advance to the final round. The top vote getter from the Eventista public voting and the candidate with the best performance during the live selling will join them, raising the field to a total of seven participants in the final round.

With a total of seven finalists and only three crowns at stake, the remaining four in the final round will all be proclaimed as runners-up at the end of the competition.

Fan-favorite queens and seasoned contenders are among the 21 candidates competing in the pageant’s inaugural edition, including 2025 Miss Eco International Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks from Iloilo and 2023 Binibining Pilipinas International Angelica Lopez of Palawan.
