CALASIAO, Pangasinan – A female dog named “Tala” was rescued from slaughter on Tuesday after San Jacinto police, in coordination with an animal welfare group, raided a roadside slaughterhouse. During the entrapment operation, police arrested a 53-year-old male resident of San Jacinto for the alleged sale of a live dog intended for consumption. The raid was conducted alongside the regional director of the Animal Welfare Investigation Project (AWIP), a United Kingdom-based non-profit organization.
