Dior is jetting off to Ireland for its pre-fall show in December.

The luxury French fashion brand – helmed by Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson – plans to show its pre-fall 2027 collection in the Old Library of Trinity College in Dublin on December 4.

While Dior hosts its regular fashion shows in Paris, it tends to pick international locations for the ‘in-between’ collections – like cruise and pre-fall shows. Previous locations include Los Angeles, Kyoto, Mumbai and Perthshire, Scotland, but this marks the first time the historic label is showing in Ireland.

Dior posted the show’s invitation on its Instagram Stories, featuring a drawing of a four-leaf clover, a symbol Anderson has drawn heavily upon during his time at Dior.

The invitation features the details of the show, along with a quote from Carmel Snow, the editor-in-chief of the American edition Harper’s Bazaar from the 1930s to 1950s, reading: “It’s quite a revolution, dear Christian. Your dresses have such a new look.”

Dublin-born Snow coined the term the ‘New Look’ after seeing Christian Dior’s debut collection in 1947, referring to the two-piece blazer with a cinched waist and full skirt silhouette that soon became the brand’s signature – and is still being reimagined on the runway today.

In 1947, this was a radical silhouette, an ultra-feminine shape that was a huge departure from the boxy, masculine fashions typical post-Second World War.

Anderson, who previously designed for Spanish label Loewe and also has his own brand, took the reins at Dior in 2025, becoming the first creative director since Christian Dior himself to oversee the label’s menswear, womenswear and haute-couture collections.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Anderson had designed a Dior haute-couture gown for popstar Taylor Swift’s wedding to NFL player Travis Kelce, although the dress itself is yet to be revealed.

In the days following the wedding, Anderson showed his latest couture collection in Paris on a botanical-inspired catwalk, ending the show in floral-embroidered white wedding gown with a sweeping train – perhaps giving a hint to what Swift’s gown looked like.

“Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal. To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour,” Anderson told WWD.

The Old Library is an 18th-century building that is currently raising funds for major restoration work, due to start next year.

On July 17, the first part of a three-part documentary series called Trinity’s Treasures aired on RTE One. It features well-known Trinity College graduates, like Oscar-nominated actor Ruth Negga, going behind-the-scenes at Trinity College, as part of the Old Library’s redevelopment project.

Negga often wears designs from Anderson’s tenure at Dior, so could be one of the celebrity guests sitting front row at the upcoming Dublin show.
