Minister for Industries and Food Processing T.G. Bharath Gupta on Wednesday said the State government was giving top priority to sports development by creating modern infrastructure for athletes across Andhra Pradesh. The Minister made these remarks after inaugurating a newly constructed pickleball court at the outdoor stadium in Kurnool.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said that development works worth ₹2.5 crore had been launched in Kurnool. The projects include a synthetic walking track and a volleyball court aimed at enhancing sporting facilities in the city.
The Minister said the government was committed to providing world-class sports infrastructure and promoting emerging disciplines such as pickleball. He said additional funds would be provided, if necessary, for the stadium’s development.
Mr. Bharath Gupta further added that steps would be taken to prevent encroachments on the ESTBC College grounds to protect spaces meant for sports and community use.
