Suresh, alias Rahim, 32, the prime accused in the sexual assault and murder of a four-year-old girl near Palakkad railway station in 2019, was arrested by the Town North police.

He was picked up from near the railway station at Koradacheri in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu on Monday night (August 3, 2026) by a special investigation team.

The girl’s body was found wrapped in a sack on a railway track near the Palakkad railway station in February 2019. Suresh was arrested in the case.

However, he went into hiding after being released on bail and remained untraceable for years. The search was later extended to Tamil Nadu.

Suresh was brought to Palakkad and produced before a court on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) .
