SILIGURI: Advocate Rinki Chatterjee Singh has sought registration of a Zero FIR against CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and other organisers under provisions of the POCSO Act.

She has questioned the presence of a 12-year-old child at the organisationâs July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar.

Singh alleged that children were brought to the protest site during the demonstration against the NEET paper leak, where a lathi-charge took place and abusive language was allegedly used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country, news agency ANI reported.

Speaking after submitting the complaint, Singh questioned the involvement of a minor in the protest.

âWho brought a 12-year-old child to a protest?â she asked, arguing that a child of that age falls under the category of a âchild in need of care and protectionâ.

Seeks action under POCSO, BNS

Singh sought registration of a case against Dipke, Das and other CJP organisers under Sections 13, 14 and 15 of the POCSO Act, along with Section 153 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

She alleged that the organisers were responsible for involving children in the protest and said the circumstances surrounding their presence at the demonstration required investigation.

The complaint relates to the July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar, where CJP had demonstrated over the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in the education system.

Complaint follows PM Modiâs appeal

Singh also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modiâs subsequent social media message in which he said he had forgiven the youth over their alleged remarks and that no legal action would be taken against them, keeping their future in mind.

However, she alleged that CJP organisers later posted a video demanding an apology from Modi over the alleged police lathi-charge on protesters, including 12-year-old girls.

Singh questioned why children were present at the demonstration in the first place.

âWho is funding the protest?â

The advocate also raised questions about the funding of the CJP protests.

âWho is funding the protest, and where is the money coming from?â she asked, alleging that the movement was being backed by what she described as a âdeep stateâ.

She further alleged the involvement of âbrokers and anti-nationalsâ working against the government.

These claims were made as part of Singhâs broader allegations against the CJP organisers.
