With San Diego Comic-Con fast approaching with a bevy of announcements, first looks, and exclusive swag for those lucky enough to attend to salivate over, DC Comics came dressed for the occasion with a swanky box set to add to Absolute Batman fans’ collections.
Made in collaboration with Shoe Palace and Upper Deck, DC Comics’ San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Absolute Batman box set, which costs $100, includes a foil variation of Absolute Batman #1âa comic in such high demand it’s gotten ten reprints since its debut in 2024. Also included is a limited-edition, serial-numbered Upper Deck trading card, a t-shirt taking up all the real estate for Bruce’s giant new logo, and artwork from artist Nick Dragotta. You can cop yourself an Absolute Batman bundle at DC booth #4544 while supplies last from July 22 through July 26. Here’s a look at the box set’s wares:

Waiting in the wings for Absolute Batman fans is an animated series. Announced during the Worldâs Finest Animation: DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation Showcase at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the animated series will see Scott Snyder serve as executive producer and showrunner, while Dragotta is on board as a producer. While we’ve yet to learn which animation studio will be attached to the show, nor who’ll be the voice of da bat (although fans have certainly already made their voices heard on that matter), we’ve got a logline that makes the meteoric rise of the Batman comic book run feel all the more awesome:
Absolute Batman boldly reinvents the Batman mythos for a new generation of fans, reimagining the Dark Knight as a working-class hero up against impossible odds (and the most terrifying foes ever), on a mission to prove that even in an era of wealth, power and corruption, one good person can change the world. No manor, no money⦠all Batman. When you take away the manor, the money, the advantages, what youâre left with is something absolute.
As we’ve noted in prior coverage, in all of DC Comics’ Absolute run, no series has caught fire quite like Absolute Batman. Created by Snyder and Dragotta, the series sees Bruce Wayne stripped of his usual upholstery. No infinite money glitch, no butler, nada. All he has are his wits, a giant earthmover Batmobile, and a Bat-logo-axe too large to be considered a sword to contend with the most FUBAR reimaginings of his rogues’ gallery the DC universe has ever seen. Thankfully, he’s also got backup via Absolute Robin(s), who we should also mention pilot giant mechs.
While all of the above sounds like Batman is far from being on the back foot fighting crime in Gotham, know that it only ever so slightly evens the odds in his favor with the cyberpunk-meets-eldritch horrors of the Absolute Universe’s Gotham. He’s certainly the Batman we deserve in 2026, and DC Comics going all-in on Absolute Batman mania is a gift that keeps on giving.
