Dmytro Petlin, a representative of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced the figures during an online briefing, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"There are still 12,000 people living in communities classified as active combat areas," Petlin said.

He added that about 115,000 civilians remain in the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region, including 6,176 children.

Petlin also noted that since the beginning of August, the region's population has decreased by 2,400 people, as they either evacuated on their own or were evacuated by the authorities.

Overall, more than 1.416 million people, including over 212,000 children, have been evacuated from their permanent homes in the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region since February 2022.

The mandatory evacuation of civilians from the Donetsk region has been in effect since August 2, 2022.
