The Lok Sabha is set to discuss the The Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, according to the agenda on Thursday (August 6, 2026). The Bill, which will be moved by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, seeks to amend the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, the Income-tax Act, 2025, and the Finance Act, 2026.

The Rajya Sabha will consider the Appropriation (No.3) Bill, 2026. It was approved by the Lok Sabha earlier. The legislation authorises the appropriation of money out of the Consolidated Fund of India to meet the amounts spent on certain services during the financial year ended on the 31st of March, 2023, in excess of the amounts granted for those services and for that year.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju met Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday (August 5, 2026) in an effort to break the parliamentary deadlock, with the two sides discussing the proposed delimitation Bill and the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment (FCRA) Bill, 2026.
