At least seven countries have qualified for the quarter-final stage at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, tournament in Morocco.
Malawi and Nigeria are the two latest countries to book their spots in the quarter-final stage.
This follows the conclusion of the Group C final fixtures played on Wednesday night.
Nigeria thrashed Egypt 6-2, while Malawi lost 1-0 against Zambia.
Malawi, Nigeria, and Zambia all finished level on 6 points each in Group C.
The Scorchers topped the group with six points after a head-to-head tiebreaker among tied teams, while Nigeria sits in second place.
Malawi and Nigeria teams now joined Cameroon, Morocco, South Africa, Algeria and the Ivory Coast, who have already booked their place in the quarter-final.
