Our favorite XR glasses brand just launched its lightest, most compact pair yet

On one hand, we see smartphone brands such as Samsung and Google pushing to deepen their roots in the category of AR Glasses. On the other, there are XR glasses that work with any device that has a USB-C connection. If I were to choose between the two (despite their different utilities), I’d rather pick the latter kind because they come with no (AI) strings attached and offer almost universal usability, blessing you with a ginormous display real estate in front of your eyes. One of the leading brands in this space is VITURE, which is now launching a new pair of XR glasses — one that’s on a strict diet.
VITURE today is announcing the new VITURE Pro 2 XR glasses to mark its fifth anniversary. The new Pro 2 glasses cost almost half as much as last year’s Luma series, which we found to be extremely useful for entertainment and gaming. Despite that, VITURE claims these are the thinnest, lightest, and most comfort-oriented glasses it has ever made.
The design hasn’t changed since the VITURE Pro, but the company claims to have improved the glasses across four key parameters: field curvature, image sharpness, geometric distortion, and image stability. Combined, these improvements are said to offer a high level of detail across the entire Micro-OLED display without distortion or artifacts. Each display on the new Pro 2 glasses offers brightness up to 1,600 nits, enabling visibility even in brighter environments. These are even brighter than the higher-end Luma Pro. While VITURE does not reveal the resolution, the previous Pro offered a 1200p resolution per eye, along with a 120Hz refresh rate.
On top of the frame, VITURE Pro 2 offers two separate dials to offset myopic vision up to -5.0D.
Despite the tech that they pack, the new Pro 2 glasses weigh only 63 grams, keeping them in the territory of AR glasses rather than XR ones. The previous ones weighed 77 grams. The company also doubles down on its claims that it’s the thinnest pair of XR glasses it has made yet, but doesn’t share specifics.
Along with the glasses, VITURE is also launching a new, more compact Mobile Dock Mini. The separate credit card-sized $99 accessory expands connectivity options so you can connect up to two pairs of glasses with an HDMI source, while the built-in 10,000mAh battery serves as a power source. The Dock Mini now uses a modular design where a smaller adapter detaches from the main body, letting owners extend output to two glasses through a single USB port on the source device. You can also use one of these USB-C ports for charging your phone, laptop, Nintendo Switch, or another device. In addition to the Pro 2, this new Dock is compatible with all VITURE smart glasses.
The VITURE Pro 2 is available right away on the company’s website and via Amazon for $299. Meanwhile, the Dock Mini is priced at $99, but you can save $20 if you buy both.
