India and Russia are holding the fifth meeting of the Army Land Systems Sub-Group (ALSSG) in New Delhi from August 4 to 7 to review ongoing military technical cooperation and explore ways to strengthen collaboration in land systems and defence technology.

According to the Indian Army, the meeting is being held under the framework of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC), one of the key institutional mechanisms overseeing defence cooperation between the two countries.

The Indian delegation is led by Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development and Sustenance), while the Russian delegation is headed by Major General Tufekchi Aleksandr, Deputy Head of the Main Armoured Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the discussions are focused on further strengthening the long-standing bilateral defence partnership, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to enhancing mutual trust and advancing defence industrial and technological cooperation.

The four-day engagement is expected to review ongoing projects related to Army land systems and identify new areas of collaboration under the broader India-Russia defence partnership.
