Sparks fly from cargo plane as it ‘tail skids’ while landing at airport

Sparks flew from a cargo plane attempting to land in Kentucky on Sunday (19 July), video taken by an eyewitness shows.

The Kalitta Air cargo aircraft was landing at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport when it suffered a "tail skid."

Sparks emerged from the back end of the plane before it rose back into the air.

According to local media reports, there were no reports of injuries and the aircraft was able to land safely.

The plane has been removed from service to be inspected, Kalitta Air’s Chief Operating Officer Heath Nicholl said, according to a WXIX-TV report.
